A commercial bank is a type of financial institution that provides services such as accepting deposits, making business loans, and offering basic investment products. This is the bank where most people do their banking in day-to-day life. Other types of banks do generally not offer these services.

Commercial banks are established to earn profits, so main aim of the commercial bank is to earn the profit.

The main source of profit of commercial bank is the difference between the interest rates. Commercial banks charge high rate of interest from the borrowers but pay much less rate of Interest to their depositors which results in the difference between the two rates of interest resulting in the main source of profit of the commercial banks.
